Petty Confirmation Offers Opportunity to Strengthen Coastal Resilience, Habitat Restoration

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The confirmation of Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere Tim Petty offers an opportunity for the U.S. Department of Commerce and Trump Administration to recommit to and invest in coastal resilience, habitat restoration, sustainable fisheries, and science and stewardship.

“Our oceans and coastal resources are at a critical moment — one that Assistant Secretary Tim Petty can help address with a steady hand at the helm,” said Jessie Ritter, associate vice president for water resources and coastal policy. “We look forward to collaborating with the Assistant Secretary to support and strengthen coastal resilience, sustainable fisheries, critical research, and habitat restoration efforts to ensure that these vital resources and ecosystems as well as our coastal way of life can endure for future generations.”
