IPCC Preparing to Release Synthesis Report
On Saturday the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will release Climate Change 2007 - the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report. This important synthesis report will summarize the science, impacts, and solutions of climate change and will serve as important tool for policy makers.
Take a look at this article on the release of the synthesis report: UN Climate Panel Debates Major Risks from Global Warming" I find it more than troubling that our government is trying to hide the fact that we are headed to "abrupt and irreversible climate changes and impacts" without a new policy direction. Withholding vital information like this needs to be challenged at every level.

I just read your editorial in the current NWF Magazine. While I feel that we are polluting the planet and affecting many animal's habitats, and need to address that, I cannot agree that we are totally responsible for global warming. How do you explain previous ice ages that happened prior to humans? While there are many scientists that say it is a reality, there are just as many that say it is a normal cycle of the earth that has happened in the past, i.e., previous ice ages. If people will focus cleaning up the planet and working together to save wildlife, instead of trying to scare everyone, I think you would get a better response.

Hi Gayle,
First of all, thanks for commenting!
There is a strong scientific consensus on the role of human behavior in climate change. Given the disastrous effects of global warming on wildlife, we believe that fighting to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is the single most important thing we can do to protect wildlife.
