New Study: Great Lakes waters show effects of climate change

It's a good thing that the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact was enacted last October!

A new study in this month's edition of Science reports that the Great Lakes are being effected by climate change and barely have enough water to supply states in its basin, let alone thirsty arid states.

Though the five Great Lakes are vast, only 1% of their water is renewed each year. Increased evaporation caused by global warming and our use (and misuse) of Great Lakes water is placing a real strain on the Lakes.
